Music veteran Eddy Schreyer is no novice to the mastering field. As the owner and chief engineer at Oasis Mastering, his ears and expertise have most recently been sought out by many great artists such as Akon, Prince, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, System of a Down, Alice in Chains, and Christina Aguilera, and he continues to work on popular movie soundtrack albums like High School Musical and Hannah Montana.
Growing up as the son of an independent film editor, Eddy Schreyer started his musical career as a guitar player in bands around his native Los Angeles. While attending the Sound Master recording school, Eddy was hired as an apprentice mastering engineer for MCA Records where, after working on Elton John’s “Blue Moves” and Lynard Skynard’s double album “Live From The Road,” he so enjoyed the mastering process that he realized that he never wanted to do anything else.
After a seven year stint at Capitol Records, where he mastered projects ranging from Bobby Brown and Paula Abdul to Queen and Iron Maiden, Eddy was offered a mastering position at the then-hot facility Future Disc Systems. He remained at Future Disc Systems for the the next six years mastering such artists as Motorhead, Boys 2 Men, Janes Addiction and Hootie And The Blowfish.
Wanting to fulfill his own vision of what a mastering studio could be like, Eddy opened Oasis Mastering in Studio City, California in 1996. An immediate success, Oasis soon became the mastering home to artists like Steve Miller Band, Tool, Eric Clapton, Korn and Black Eyed Peas.
In June of 2005, Eddy took Oasis to another level, relocating to a larger building in Burbank, California, where Oasis Mastering is located today.
