Riley Urick
Music Producer/Engineer, Riley Urick has built a stellar reputation for himself in the music industry as a Recording, Mixing and Mastering Engineer alongside Grammy award-winning engineer, Eddy Schreyer at Oasis Mastering. In this role, Urick has worked on top artists projects including Kanye West, Christina Aguilera, Akon, B2k, The Offspring, System Of A Down, Miles Davis, Mya and Ron Fair, to name a few.  
 
Outside of his work at Oasis, Urick’s talent as a producer has kept him in high demand among artists, independent music companies and entertainment professionals who consistently request his services for projects. These independent projects have included work with high-profile artists such as Tyrese, The Cheetah Girls and Redman. It has also lead to work with companies including JYP Entertainment, which earned Urick four song placements on a platinum-selling Universal Records album in The Philippines and DNR Records, earning him a number one song on the CMJ Charts and XM Radio.
 
Urick has also produced tracks independently for legendary television producer, Kurt Farquhar and secured more than 200 song placements on major network shows including Everybody Hates Chris, King of Queens, Girlfriends and One on One. His work has also been featured on almost 50 MTV shows.  
 
The entrepreneurial spirit of this 28-year-old has motivated him to form his own company. Throughout his 10 years in the music industry, Urick has embarked on independent business ventures including First Draft Entertainment (1999) and RJB Musik (2003) before finding the perfect formula and developing Checkmate Music Group in February of 2009. The production company serves as a one-stop shop for Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and Rock artists and already boasts impressive clients including Soulja Boy (S.O.D. Records),  Lil Mama (Jive), Romeo, formerly known as Lil’ Romeo (Next Generation Records), The College Boys (Next Generation Records), Tierra Marie (For Reel/Warner Bros.), Casha Monet (featured on Yung Berg’s “The Business”) and Kurtis Blow Jr.   

The Seattle native, who also spent some of his childhood in Montana, moved to Los Angeles at age 14 and discovered his love of music. He attended Los Angeles Recording School where he graduated at top of class. His musical influences run the gamut from Timbaland to System Of A Down to the late Michael Jackson.
